The purpose of this shoot was to get some promotional photos for a financial advisor office.
Because they have a busy schedule, and coordinating a time is difficult, we offered to bring the ‘shoot’ to them.
One day, about a half hour before they finished a ‘working lunch’ meeting, we arrived and started setting up equipment and moving furniture.
We brought and set up a combination of ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ lights. This way we could ‘cut them out’ from the background, and still give them smooth and flattering fleshtones.
As soon as they closed their meeting, they walked into the hallway, we posed them, and began to take photos.
Some shots were grouped, others were as individuals. And a few shots were for personal use.
Also, one of them was about 5-6 inches shorter than the others, so we added a little something ‘extra’ to their height to give the group photos a more uniform look. (And we won’t tell who it is!)
Finally, when we finished editing, we dropped off a disc containing the finished shots in a variety of resolutions and cropped in multiple ways.
This way they have appropriate photos whether they use them for the www, business cards, promotional printed pieces, and of course, personally.
During our processing of the raw files, we spent some time reducing the ‘crows feet’, minor facial and/or neck wrinkles, a midday beard ‘shadow’, and adding a little more ‘snap’ to their eyes and teeth.
It never hurts to help someone look their best. Especially in a business photo!
