The client for this shoot had a beautiful apartment complex.  They had spent a considerable amount of money and effort creating a very unique ‘apartment community’.  And they needed a way to effectively convey that image in their advertising materials.


This grouping of photos is a prime example of ‘scouting’ the location . . . studying the character of the light . . . and hanging around long enough for the sun to get into just the right position for our various compositions.

When we first arrived, we walked around to study the location of the various buildings and ‘estimate’ when the sun would be at the appropriate angle for the shot we wanted.


As the sun traveled across the sky, we would double check our locations . . . and when the light was right, we’d take photos.


A few hours later, we had a nice collections of photos!
