The inspiration for the ‘yard’ photo was the ‘dappled’ light coming through the trees from across the street.  One additional gold reflector was used as fill.

Moving the flower pot next to them and a little bit of dirt on the woman’s knees helped ‘sell’ the ‘steps’ photo.

As in all our exterior photos, once we determined when the “light would be right” (@ 5 PM for this photo), we waited till the sky, time and the clients availability all coincided.

As you may already have noticed, both photos used a very shallow depth of focus.
